Decoy Duckies

A Color Hue Test, how well can you differentiate?

I suppose it also depends on how well your monitor is calibrated.  I missed 22.  The lower the score the better you can see hues.

Brown Mountain

This mountain is "out the road".  We are having the 2nd snowfall of the winter the past 3 days. I took this photo the day I hiked an opposing mountain.  I was impressed with the cornice on this one.  I expect by now it has either fallen or grown by 3.  It will be interesting to go back and see.

ducks

We had a beautiful day on Sunday so a group of we women went for a long hike around a mountain.  Monday it started snowing and continues to sleet and hail today.  I thought I'd paint some bathtub ducks to cheer myself up.

more hummingbirds :C

I did these last spring.  I have loosened up considerably since then, for that I'm grateful.

For Studio Atelier

For Studio Atelier Blogspot, another photograph Challenge.  This was of a Malibu fountain.  I found it very difficult.  I have a hard time "editing" out details and get bogged down in them.  It took days before I could make myself try to paint it, and I don't like it at all.  But oh well... practice practice.  Gringo Zero says to paint things at least twice, which is very good advice and I've been trying to follow it, however I found this so distasteful that I can not do it again.

For The Virtual Paintout Blogspot

the virtual paintout has Stavanger Norway as it's destination this month.  I found these cows and took a snapshot.  I started painting from the snapshot and then realized I was totally uptight and abandoned the painting.  This is what I abandoned. hahahahahaa  Good for me!

This is the one I painted this morning and the one I'm going to submit.  I'm a lot happier with it.
