This is a portrait of Tim Williams, Shitao, a flickr artist that passed away on Dec 19th. I feel as though a light has gone out. He was a poet, an artist, and a gentle soul. His art can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shitao
This is a photo of my nephew and my daughter, when they were about 5 or 6 yrs, old. They are now 30 and 29. I love this photo, and I thought I had lost it. so glad I found it, it had fallen behind some books on my bookshelf.
This is Julia Kay Portrait Party artist Arturo Espinosa, holding a cute cat. It is a horrible photograph, I think because it gets dark now at 3pm, and even though I have lights that are supposed to mimic daylight, they really don't :-(. I did this on construction paper with pastels, poster paint, and pencil.
The plane that was taking me back to Ketchikan had to overhead and land in Juneau because of a sudden blizzard that obscured the Ketchikan runway. In the morning we were able to take off, and the view was brilliant. Juneau is surrounded by mountain peaks. I was able to capture some of their beauty as we flew away....
Done with crayola crayons which are very difficult to work with. Millions of children are probably discouraged from becoming artists by using these crayons. This is a warped rendition of the place in the google map: http://g.co/maps/5znkv
Oh dear, I'm trying out the "new" format, and already I've messed up my template by deleting things I want, and adding the tripadvisor map that I don't really want. One of these days I'll spend some hours trying to figure it out :-(.
These are pictures that I took yesterday. It quit raining, so some friends and I hiked up to a lake for an outing in the forest. The dog is named Maeby, and I "borrow" her for hikes. The fellow is the son of a friend of mine, and he was coming up as we were coming down. His name is Harold.
