Burro's Nose

I went to this sad little Prairie Dog Town.  There were a lot of animals in cages that shouldn't be in cages.  I'll never do that again.  The only thing I could photograph that I didn't think would make me cry later was this donkey, he looked happy enough.  Here's his nose.  I scratched him between the eyes.

  2. It always makes me cry to see any animal not treated well. It makes me tear up to see them hit by cars on the sides of the road. I'm glad this fellow at least enjoyed some petting.

  3. Charlotte, I even loathe zoos...all those majestic large animals stuck in a tiny area when they should be running around either in the jungle or the plains!

  4. Yes, I'm conflicted about zoos, a lot of those animals are only going to survive in zoos as their habitat is diminishing, and poachers are killing them, so if we want any of them at all, zoos are their last best chance. However, that is purely for human being's gratification, and maybe it is better just to let them be killed off, and run free while they can?

This place was just plain sad, but so was the proprietor, I feel he was doing the best he could, it just wasn't very good :-(
