This is a painting I did of a photograph of a shed submitted by a flickr artist who calls herself bblond1. The shed was built by her great grandparents in Arkansas. I started out with posterpaint and pastels, and then photographed it with my iPod 4G and tweaked it with some apps.
The New York Hotel in Ketchikan, Alaska is an Historic hotel that has been renovated to be very comfortable and conveniently located with a magnificent view of one of our harbors. It has a very nice coffee shop that also serves beer and wine, and nice sandwiches and salads. It is very reasonably priced for Ketchikan. The picture of the front was done with an app on my iPod.
From a photo added by Flickr artist MargauxB, of Almond orchards in Modesto California.
Painted with poster paint on construction paper, with a cheap water color brush. Love the poster paint colors, to heck with acrylics :D
Acrylic on construction paper. I'm using such cheap paper because I'm throwing these away. I'm going to learn how to paint landscapes, I've set that goal for myself. Being in this group is going to help, as it forces me to paint them, as much as I dread doing it. From a photograph by flickr member Rodneyvdb.
Maureen Nathan, a friend in Julia Kay's Party, has started a new group. She's calling it Lots of Landscapes. I am horrible at Landscapes. We each post a photograph we've taken of the area where we live, and then we paint each other's photographs and post our paintings. This is a painting of a photograph by an excellent artist named Mariah O'Neill. It's acrylic and latex housepaint on newsprint. I had a tortured time doing it. I can tell the group is going to be good for me. :D
